Lloyd Douglas Brooks
1933 ~ 2006

Lloyd Douglas Brooks died December 5, 2006 peacefully at home. Born January 25, 1933 to Charles and Elizabeth Sundstrom Brooks. He was a faithful member of the LDS Church, and lived his entire life according to its' principles. Lloyd grew up on the Avenues, where he later raised his own family, Graduated from East High School in 1952, Served in 29th RCT on the Island Okinawa during the Korean War. Was employed at KUCC for 11 years, and was Admiral Corp. Service Manager for two years. The true passion of his life was the Salt Lake City Fire Dept. where, for 25 years, he was best know as Brooksie. He was many and all things to U.W. Freight Co. for 30 years. Married Adrian Adair Stock Oct. 14, 1955. They raised four children: Timothy (Julie), Susan Adair, Robin Johnson (David), James (Kristina), 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by son Timothy and daughter Susan. Lloyd spent his life in service to his family, friends and community. He was a wonderful influence for all things good. The family appreciates greatly the care and concern of the staff at Wasatch Dialysis Center, and those with Caregivers Support Network. Funeral services will be held Fri. Dec. 8, 2006, 12:00 noon at the Olympus 1st Ward, 4100 South Camille (2400 E.), where also friends may call Thurs. evening from 6-8 p.m. and from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery. Grandpa, we love you and will miss you.
