Weston M. Butterfield
BOUNTIFUL - Wes passed peacefully on Wednesday, June 30th. Born to Wayne and Mildred Hamilton Butterfield of Herriman, UT, he married Vickie Miller on March 28, 1971. A decorated Vietnam Vet and member of the National Guard, Wes continued his life of public service after his honorable discharge from the army by pursuing a career in the fire service. He retired as a captain of the Bountiful Fire Dept. after 29 years, having served on various state committees dedicated to furthering the professional development of Utah's fire service. Wes also worked as a mechanic for Motor Cargo for more than 20 years. An avid outdoorsman, he also enjoyed travelling, and spending time with his grandkids. He was a die-hard fan of the U of U and "any team that beat BYU". Wes is survived by his wife, Vickie; son, Matt (Jodie); daughter, Natalie Johns (Jeff); grandkids, Braedon, Brynlee, and Bridger Butterfield, and Jane Johns; sister, Myrna Carter; brother, Gene (Tammy); etc. A graveside tribute will be held Wednesday, July 7th at 11 a.m. at Lakeview Memorial Estates, 1640 E. Lakeview Drive, Bountiful. AT THE REQUEST OF WES, THERE WILL BE NO VIEWING. Wes's family would like to thank all of those that have expressed their love and condolences.
