Morgan Wayne Harrison
"Horse"
Wayne Harrison of Magna, UT passed away unexpectedly September 30, 2008 at age 65. He was born May 3, 1943 in Vernal, UT to Morgan Ward and Doris Bowden Harrison. He grew up in Kearns and graduated from Granger High School in 1962. He served a LDS mission and later served in the army where he received a purple heart after getting shot in Viet Nam. He married his sweetheart, Georgene Tipton, on August 28, 1970 in the Salt Lake Temple. He retired from the Salt Lake County Fire Department after 30 years of serving as a Firefighter/EMT. Recently, you may have seen him at Smith's where he worked as a greeter. Golfing was a hobby of his and he was a devoted Denver Broncos and BYU fan. He also enjoyed spending time with his wife, kids and grandkids. He is survived by his wife; four kids, Travis Harrison, Aliceson (Sam) Howard, Cameron (Jennifer) Harrison, and Wendie (Nathan) Grover; grandkids, Sammy and Ben Howard, Autumn Grover and Kallie Harrison; his mother; and siblings, Trent (Beverly) Harrison, David (Heidi) Harrison, and Yvonne Linam. He is preceded in death by his father and sister JoAnn Smith. His personality will be deeply missed by all. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6, 2008 at the Lake Ridge 3rd Ward, 3151 S. 7700 W. Friends and family may call Sunday 6-8 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 S., Magna, and Monday 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
