M. Darnell Andrus
"Nelly"

Our Hero M. Darnell Andrus was born December 30, 1929 in Murray, Utah, and raised in Draper as the oldest son of Ben W. and Ruth B. Andrus. Attended Draper Park Elementary /Jr. High and graduated from Jordan High lettering in baseball, attended BYU and was a lifelong Cougar Fan! Married Bonnie Jane Sharp for eternity October 27, 1949 in the Salt Lake Temple. Devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a successful businessman, dairy farmer, and retired Lieutenant in S.L. County Fire Dept. Later worked for Jordan School District. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many church callings. Dad gave to others, and nothing meant as much as bringing happiness into others' lives. His favorite place to work and play was the cabin in Island Park. He leaves behind his loving wife of 59 years; nine children: Jani Graham, Jody (Paul) Jenkins, Teri Jackson, Barry (Dee) Andrus, Rand (Linda) Andrus, Tracy King, Daren Andrus, Allison (Karl) King, Erika (Chad) Iverson; 36 grandkids and 35 great-grandkids (he was always their greatest fan); two brothers, Ray (Delfa) and Robert (Mai); and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Paul and Larry Andrus. NO ONE cared for him like his sweetheart Bonnie. Thank you, Mom! Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 12, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Draper 7th LDS Ward Chapel, 12300 South 600 East. There will be viewings Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, and Friday 9-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Draper City Cemetery.
