Avard R. Rogers
1915 ~ 2007

Avard was born September 3, 1915 in Blanding, Utah to Willis Rogers and Elizabeth (Bessie) Ritchie Rogers. He died December 1, 2007 in Sandy, Utah. Avard served in the Navy for two years. He joined the SLC Fire Dept. on March 2, 1939 and retired after 35 years as a Battalion Chief. He married Helen Katherine Gross on May 23, 1941. Avard is survived by his wife Katherine; children, Alan G. (Karen) Rogers, James A. Rogers, John D. (Kim) Rogers, Kathleen Terry, Sue Walker; his youngest brother Klint (Carla) Rogers; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his eight siblings, a son-in-law, Richard and a great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held Sat. Dec. 8, 2007 at 3 p.m. at the LDS church at 8137 South Echo View Dr (6250 West) West Jordan, Utah. Directors, Garner Funeral Home.
