In Memory . . .

Robert "Jake" Jacobsen
"It's not the destination, it's the journey"

Robert "Jake" Jacobsen was a true adventurer, always full of life. Jake was "just your basic hero" devoting his working life to public safety. He was dedicated firefighter, a member of the first paramedics in Utah, served as a crewmember on LifeFlight. In 1984 he founded Burn Pattern Analysis and devoted 25 years to private fire investigation. He proudly served as an Executive Director on the Board of The International Association of Arson Investigators. Jake's family and friends meant the world to him. He was passionate about his business (through his Harley's were serious competition).
He will be deeply missed by his wifey Marian; children Tamra (Tim), Tyler, Matt, Adam, Alex, Morgann (Stephen); grandchildren Colton, Hunter, Charlie and Anna; sisters Jessica, Kathryn; his former wife Jolene; his many, many dear friends; and his puppy Sophie.
Thank you for all the love and support Jake received throughout his battle with cancer. Special thanks to Curo Hospice.
Jake was a great man and leaves behind a remarkable legacy. We love you Jakester!
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Livestrong (donations@LIVESTRONG.org) to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
A wake to honor Jake will be held on Monday, January 2nd from 6 to 8 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City.
Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.starksfuneral.com.
