James Lee (Pa) Jenson
1933 ~ 2010
Age 76, passed away Friday September 3, 2010 in Riverton, Utah. He was born October 25, 1933 to Elmo (Pete) and Janet Birrell Jenson in Salt Lake City. He grew up in Salt Lake City and West Jordan. During his 8th grade year the family moved to Oregon. When they returned back to West Jordan he met Donna Rae Asay and they were happily married for over 57 years. Jim worked for Kennecott for 15 years in the train service, after which he worked for the Salt Lake County Fire Department for 31 years retiring as Deputy Fire Marshall. With these jobs, he made many life long friends Jim attended the retirement lunches every month with the firemen and sorely missed those who had passed on before him. We all loved Jim's great sense of humor and will miss laughing at the stories of his youth and wild adventures with his friends. He is survived by his wife Donna, daughter Marlynn Shaffer, grandchildren, Janeen, Jordan, Janette, and Garrett and seven great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, one sister Shirley Webster and son-in-law Bob Shaffer. Services will be held Tuesday Sept 7, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road. A viewing will be held on Monday Sept 6, from 6-8 p.m. and one hour before the services. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to any America First Credit Union on behalf of the Utah State Firefighter Assoc.
