Frank D. Munson
"Dammer!"

IVINS, UT - Frank Munson passed away peacefully on June 18, 2010 at his home in Ivins, Utah. He was born August 24, 1933 in Salt Lake City to Moreland and Eleanor Munson. He ditched West High School to join the Navy where he served aboard the USS Essex in the Korean War. Frank was a Firefighter for 29 years with the Salt Lake City Fire Department. He retired at the rank of Captain. He married Wendy Warnes. They had three children, whom he loved dearly. They later divorced. In 1968, he married Kathy and took in her three boys. She was his best friend, sidekick and partner-in-crime for the past 41 years. Frank was a craftsman, tinkerer and storyteller. His home was his pride and joy. He and Kathy loved opening their doors to friends, family and strangers - all of whom he loved unconditionally. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; their chldren: Gail Munson O'Dir, Mimi (Gilbert) Tantillo, Ray (Cami) Munson, Mark (Loree), Scott, and Dave (Jaymie) Perry; and many grandchildren and great-grand-children. He is also survived by his sisters: Judy (Steve) MacLachlan, Peg Soria, Nanette Badura. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Gene and step-sister, Sandy McKone. A celebration of Frank's life will be held Sat., August 28, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at the Munson residence in Ivins, Utah. All who loved him are welcome.
