Jack Warren Sommer
1931 ~ 2013

"Grandpa Jack" passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2013 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Jack was born in Salem, Utah to the late Freeda Lenora Warren Sommer and John R. Sommer. Jack was preceded in death by his three sisters Flora, Helen and Betty Jean. He is an Alumni of the University of Utah. A Veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served as a Staff Sargent during the Korean War.
He married his Eternal Sweetheart Marilyn Sigmund in the Manti temple and has enjoyed the past 57 years together. Jack and Marilyn are the proud parents of four sons; John Lee Wayne, Larry Warren, Michael Lynn and Craig Leon. They have 2 daughters-in-law, 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
He worked for the Salt Lake City Fire Department and retired after 30 years as a Captain. He held many church callings and served an LDS mission in Salt Lake City. Jack loves his family, Country, Church and Community. He will be remembered for his life of service to others.
A viewing will be held in his honor from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM, and the Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 2, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cottonwood 1st Ward, 5913 South Highland Drive, Holladay, Utah, with Bishop Charles Pendley officiating.
